Acorns of Lancashire in Accrington have won the national award as ‘Dry Cleaner of the Year 2016’. This is a fantastic achievement for an Accrington based company. There are more than 3,500 Dry Cleaners in the U.K. and out of extremely tough competition we managed to secure first place out of the five finalists shortlisted. The prestigious awards were organised by Mark Gleed from industry body, Laundry and Cleaning Today, at Mercedes-Benz World in Surrey on November 3rd 2016. It was an outstanding ceremony, packed with key individuals and businesses from the industry in attendance.
Three years ago Acorns of Lancashire opened in Accrington Town Centre, leading the way in Dry Cleaning by WetCare for the UK and the whole of Lancashire. As Miele Professional’s premier WetCare site in Lancashire, the Whalley Road business credits its success to high quality, environmentally-friendly products and a truly focused Customer Service. Since launching, we have grown significantly and have had over 10,000 customers. We were nominated by someone within the industry, but do not know who!
Company Director, Brendan Duffy states “We felt the judges recognised our efforts to firstly understand our Customers’ expectations and then to exceed them. We have focused on quality, procedures, systems and training to ensure our Customers receive the best service possible. Also, as our system does not use harmful solvents we are environmentally friendly and we provide support to local charities and the community. This is brilliant news for the town.“
